Family Time

Family is so important!

What is FAMILY TIME anyway?

·Webster defines Family as:

Parents and their Children; The members of one Household; A group of person’s related by blood or marriage.

·God defines Family as:

Joshua 24: 15b “As for me and my house we will serve the Lord.”

Matthew 21:15a “My house will be called a house of Prayer.”

Eph 5:22-23 “Wives submit to your husbands as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, just as Christ is head of the church, his body, of which is the savior.”

Eph 5: 25 Husbands Love your wife just as Christ loved the Church and gave himself up for her.”

Eph. 6:2 “Honor thy Father and Mother which is the first commandment with a promise.”

There are so many more but these are a few of my favorite! =)

  • Make time for each person in the family, at least once a week, to talk with, laugh with, cry with or just relax with.
  • Have a date night/day~Have a family night/day~Have a “DO NOTHING” time. It makes such a difference in your relationship~
  • Also make time for yourself~once a week give yourself time to refresh and renew! It could be anything from a bubble bath, read a book, get coffee with the girls, or go shopping without the kids. This will help you recharge and feel good about the daily tasks you do.

Being a Family requires a continuous connection in relationships. Taking the good with the bad and the heartaches with the hugs. Being a Household of Faith is being a Family!

Summer Cleaning Motivation

How to Get Motivated To Do Summer Cleaning

things you’ll need:

  • Music
  • Water
  • Cleaning supplies
  • 1

First start off by going to the store. Who doesn’t love a little shopping? Splurge on some new cleaning products you’ve never tried before. If you can afford it, buy some of the more expensive, really pretty ones that smell quite nice. Buy all the cleaning products you will need. You may want to buy some summer themed cleaning items with lots of floral scents! Buying new things usually helps you get motivated to do things. Also you may want to stock up on gloves, sponges, magic erasers, buckets, mops, brooms. Sometimes a nice, new mop can really excite you and get you in the cleaning mood.

  • 2

Next you will want to have some awesome music playing in the background while you clean. Nothing is worse than doing your summer cleaning to a silent house. Or a house with kids screaming. So turn on some tunes. Make a playlist of your favorite songs, or just turn on the radio. Make sure it is music that will get you PUMPED UP to clean, not make you fall asleep while you are cleaning under the beds!

  • 3

Next you will need a refreshing beverage while you clean. Water is a wonderful choice. I like to add the little Crystal Light lemonade packages to the water to make it a bit yummier, and it reminds me of summer too! Choose whatever beverage you want. But have it handy as you clean. Cleaning does have a tendency to make one thirsty!

  • 4

Next, clean, clean, clean! Sing while you clean! Dance a little while you clean! Do the funky chicken while you clean! Drink some of your beverage. Then clean some more! Don’t stop. Once you stop, you might not start again. Don’t let the summer heat get to you! Turn on a fan or the air conditioner!

  • 5

After you are all done, finish it all off by scenting your home with a new air freshener. You could use a spray kind, diffuser, or a nice plug in kind. Whatever you choose, it will really make you appreciate your hard cleaning efforts! You did a great job! You now deserve a nap!

Tips & Warnings

  • Make cleaning FUN.
  • Make a list of everything you want to accomplish then STICK TO IT
  • Sometimes the evil dirt fairies will try to convince you to let them stay and play a while. This is a trick and you must swat them out of your house with your broom immediately. Only clean fairies are allowed in your house.

Life’s Daily Commandments

Someone has written these beautiful words. One must read and try to understand the deep meanings in them.
They are like the Ten Commandments to follow in life all the time.

1] Prayer is not a “spare wheel” that you pull out when in trouble; it is a “steering wheel” that directs us in the right path throughout life.
2] Do you know why a car’s WINDSHIELD is so large & the rear view mirror is so small? Because our PAST is not as important as our FUTURE. So, look ahead and move on.
3] Friendship is like a BOOK. It takes few seconds to burn, but it takes years to write.
4] All things in life are temporary.  If going well enjoy it, they will not last forever. If going wrong don’t worry, they can’t last long either.
5] Old friends are like Gold! New friends are Diamonds! If you get a Diamond, don’t forget the Gold! Because to hold a Diamond, you always need a base of Gold!
6]  Often when we lose hope and think this is the end, GOD smiles from above and says, “Relax, sweetheart, it’s just a bend, not the end!”

7] When GOD solves your problems, you have faith in HIS abilities; when GOD doesn’t solve your problems HE has faith in your abilities.
8] A blind person asked St. Anthony: “Can there be anything  worse than losing eye sight?” He replied: “Yes, losing your vision.”
9] When you pray for others, God listens to you and blesses them; and sometimes, when you are safe and happy, remember that someone has prayed for you.
10] WORRYING does not take away tomorrow’s TROUBLES; it takes away today’s PEACE.

The CHRISTmas Sign

Twas the night before Christmas and throughout the land,

People were kneeling and all holding hands…

Their world had been shattered with violence and hate,

They gathered each praying that it wasn’t too late.

In Churches and Mosques and prayer line and on the phones,

Synagogues and Temples and small private homes…

The idea started with one little girl, who wished for one prayer, from all of the world.

Every one of God’s Children from each different nation, United for one hour of prayer and dedication.

The girl told her best friend, who then told her teacher, who the following Sunday shared the idea with her preacher.

From there it just snowballed with flyers and speeches, commercials on TV, and everywhere radio reaches!

Someone sent an email that burned up the wire; it raced around the internet like an uncontrollable fire. From computers to cell phones, faxes through cyberspace, the World Wide Web was overwhelmed as it continued to race!

The Date was decided for most seemed to believe that this magical hour, should take place Christmas Eve. For surely if the planet could somehow unite in prayer, God would hear us on this most special of nights…

They gathered in stadiums, town cafeteria and halls, school gyms and chat rooms, each filled wall to wall. All of Europe’s great cathedrals were filled to overflowing, never before in all history there had been such a showing. Spain, Portugal, Singapore, Greece, Kenya, and Paraguay, Rome, Chile, Columbia, the good olds USA!

Exactly at 10pm the service would start. The little girl with a dream would say a prayer from her heart, in a tiny little church hall, where the girl usually prayed. Microphones and speakers were wired, her words would be relayed, to the very ends of this planet and then back again. The whole world could join her praying for Peace to all mean!

The small girl stepped slowly in front of the crowd and all the satellites and cameras made the static so loud. Then a great hush fell over all those gathered there; the world held it’s breath as she started her prayer…

When the girl had finished there was not a sound…all over the world only silence was found. Then suddenly a voice in the back cried out, “Look-up, there near the ceiling.” And that was all it took…Every eye in the world…For the cameras still rolled and glanced quickly upwards as they’d been told…High over head everyone could see Innumerable flickering balls of light.

The entire world stood spellbound at this miraculous sight! Then as people watched in awe, each glowing orb changed to a dove…The universally accepted symbol of God’s undying love! A gasp spread quickly through the all, the electronic feedback was the same…reports of the doves from around the world, as each country checked in by name…The beautiful birds were everywhere, radiating warmth and peace! This was the sign the girl asked for, so that doubt would finally cease!

She clapped her hands quite merrily for she was unable to keep still, delighted with this wonderful show of God’s great and loving will! Wonderful exclamations, songs of praise, such a loud and joy-filled noise cause the rooftops all to raise!

That night knew no division; there was no rank or class, just the whole wide world as one, in PEACE~at last!

This may be another pretty story to you, but it is a true reminder that God is God and if you believe, Christmas is still CHRISTmas!!!

May God give you Peace and a sign as he Blesses you this CHRISTmas~May God fill you with Joy, Hope and Dreams in the year to come!!!

“A journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step.” – Chinese Proverb

The first step is to BELIEVE in the Gift of All Gifts~ The birth of JESUS! For it is JESUS that is the Christmas Miracle!

Santa’s Prayer

Santa’s Prayer

(Author Unknown)

The sleigh was all packed, the reindeer were fed, but Santa still knelt by his bed.

“Dear Father,” he prayed, “Be with me tonight, there is much to do and my schedule is tight. I must jump in my sleigh and streak through the sky, knowing full well that a reindeer can’t fly.  I will visit each household before the first light, I’ll cover the world and all in one night. With sleigh bells ringing I will land on each roof, amid the soft clatter of each little hoof. To get in the house is the difficult part ~some with chimneys some that are more than one story, but no matter, I will be in each child’s dreams and heart. My sack will hold toys to grant their wishes, the supply will be endless like the loaves and the fishes. I will fill all the stocking and not leave a track; I will eat every cookie and every snack.  I can do all of these things Lord, but only through you.  I just need your blessing, and then it’s easy to do. All this, to honor the birth of the One, that was sent to redeem us, YOUR Most Holy Son.

So to all of my friends, least YOUR Glory I rob,

PLEASE LORD, remind them that it is YOU who gave me this job.”

                                                In Jesus Name,

Teach CHRISTmas

The door opened and Santa walked in! The toy bag was bulging at the seams!  The children’s faces beamed with anticipation of what was inside…was there a toy for them?

As Santa opened the bag, clapping, cheering and smiles were in the air. No toys came out of the bag, just a tray full of holiday snacks. Santa set the tray on the table and told everyone, “Eat and be Merry! Rejoice in the goodness of the Lord.”

Then, Santa asked everyone to come close so that they could see what was in his bag.

He first pulled out a FIR TREE and placed in the middle of the room. Then Santa said with a smile, “The pure color green of the fir tree stays green all year round, no matter what the world does. All the needles point toward heaven, resembling the thoughts we should have every season. The shape of the tree is like a triangle which represents the Trinity-Father, Son and Holy Spirit”

The room got quiet and everyone just watched in a puzzled way, what Santa was pulling out now.  It was a Star that shined so bright. “This star is a symbol of the heavenly sign of all promises from long ago that still remain today. God promised a Savior for the world, and the star, lead the world to understand that God’s promise was fulfilled.”  Santa said proudly, as he placed it at the top of the tree.

Now everyone got real quiet , sat down and, all eyes were on Santa. What was to come?

Santa then reached in the bag again and pulled out a CANDLE. “Christ is the light of the world,” Exclaimed Santa, “It is Christ Jesus that displaces the darkness.” He quickly pulled out streams of lights and put them on the tree. “Lights also remind us and those around us, that we may be, the only Jesus others see. For we are to be the light to others, just as Jesus is our light.”

No one made a sound but continued to looked at the bag. Once again, Santa reached in the bag and diplayed another surprise. This time he removed a WREATH and placed it on the tree. “Eternal love: real love that never ceases or fails. That is the continuous love that surrounds us through Christ.” Santa said boldly. He also pulled out round ornaments, placed them on a tree and said, “Ornaments are round with no beginning or end. For God is eternal.”

The CANDY CANE was revealed next. Santa hung it on the tree and said, “For God is our good Shepherd. He brings us back when we stray and holds us when we are weak. We know his voice and so it is HE that leads and we that follow.”

This time Santa reached in his bag to gently bring out an ANGEL. “We are to remember that the angels brought forth the glorious news of our Saviors birth. “Glory to God in the Highest, on earth peace, and good will.” Santa sang.

Then to everyone’s surprise, Santa pulled out an ornament of HIM-SELF and announced, “I am just a symbol that is over stated.  However,” with humility he continued, “I have asked for repentance and received forgiveness, and in doing so, I have learned to be an example of God’s generosity.”  A tear ran down his check ….and then…he continued.

He cleared his throat while he pulled out another item from his bag. A HOLLY LEAF was shown. “Immortality!” Santa said strongly.  “The crown of thorns worn,by our Savior, and the berries are a reminder of the blood that was shed.”

A beautifully wrapped GIFT was pulled out of the bag next. “God gave his only son as the Best Gift and true miracle of Christmas. Thanks to God that he loves us so much, he gave up his most beloved.” Santa said heart fully. “Wise men brought gifts to honor the Holy baby; so we give gifts to honor the same Spirit as the wise men.”

Then suddenly there was a soft twinkling sound….Santa’s hand pulled out a bell and rang it.  “Not only do we rejoice in the joys of jingles but we are to listen like lost sheep for the guidance of God until he returns.”

The bag was empty and all were amazed at what they had heard and seen. One would think that there would be much disappointment with no one getting a gift, but there was singing and praising the Lord. Gifts come in all sorts of ways when they are from the heart. Toys became a thought of the past, and  the focus was on the TRUE spirit of Christmas!

Santa looked at the tree and all the things around the tree, along wiht all of the children and families laughing~he was pleased.

His final words were not “Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night”, but with a smile of compassion Santa said, “Remember that Christmas is a time of celebrating Hope and Light! Joy and life!  My hearts desire is for you NOT to put me in the center of your celebration-for I am just a humble servant of the ONE who IS!  I bow down to worship God the Creator, Jesus my Savoir, and Lord of my Life.”

“May God Bless you all, and to all, a Merry CHRISTmas!”
