Vinyl floors are easy to clean but sometimes buildup food spills, hair and body products or even pet stains become a challenge!
Most of the time a NEUTRAL FLOOR CLEANER will get the job done. Some floor cleaners that have an “all purpose cleaner” in them might work, but if they don’t here is what I would recommend.
Take 1 cup white distilled vinegar with 1/4 cup ammonia and stir it in a bucket of cool water..spread the mixture over floor and let set for about 5-6 minutes. Rinse with hot water until clean or buildup is gone. (This may take some time the first time, but it gets easier each time you deep clean.) Keep rinsing your mop while you are deep cleaning, so that you don’t mop the build up back on the floor. With deep cleaning Vinyl floors, some of the shine might become dull-not to worry. You can use Pledge Tile and Vinyl Floor Cleaner and it brings the shine back, usually with one coat. (I have done 2 coats around holidays.)
It might be a good idea to have 2 mops–one for deep cleaning and one for shine. But this is not recommended for wood, unsealed ceramic, terrazzo, or cork floors.
